Opus:
Opus restaurant is in the heart of downtown historic Salem, Massachusetts and captures the vibrant, urban energy of this newly revitalized city. Upstairs is a series of satellite dining areas organized around a central bar. The bar top is internally lit so that the bar itself is a light fixture as well as the energetic heart of the restaurant. The vibrant golden and soft blue lighting, along with the rich palette of colors and materials creates a cozy yet
animated space. There are many unusual interior details created by local artists. The light fixtures form a museum of repurposed objects. Downstairs, carved out of what everyone deemed an unusable basement, is a music and performance venue that has the energy of an underground club from the 1960’s. It is aptly named, Opus Underground.
