Residence/Think Tank/Writer’s Retreat:
This unusual project combines a residence with a series of community spaces that are used both as living areas as well as gathering space for visiting artists / writers in residence. At times the building is also used as an informal conference retreat center. This required designing an
environment that is intimate and livable yet, when needed, provides an inspiring place for people to gather and create. The spaces are sculptural in character, and are enriched with layers of detailing, color, and decorative arts executed by local artists and artisans.
